The curtain came down on Saturday evening for another hugely successful Frank Maher U10 tournament. The incessant rain of the previous 24 hours caused uncertainty amongst club members as to the viability of the day going ahead, however, the Sportsfield held its end of the bargain and play commenced at 10:30pm as per tradition.
In total, over 80 games took place on the day with 300 girls and boys from around Ireland displaying the skills of our great games. hurlers and camogs from Dublin, Cork, Kildare, Clare, Waterford and Tipperary enjoyed a brilliant days action facilitated by our own referees from the clubs U17 boys team and their U15 counterparts as umpires.
The Frank Maher, now heading for its 13th year, is a well oiled machine at this stage but the work that goes on behind the scenes is never taken for granted and we sincerely thank Audrey Mahadevaiah and her team of caterers for keeping the masses fed, watered and welcomed on the day, Gerry Lawless for his marquee, Andy Griffin and his team of pitch organisers, Ger Deely and Anthony Sheehan on scoreboard duties and all the rest of the unsung helpers in the background.

Finally, thanks to the Maher family (pictured above are Brian and Kieran Maher) for their continued support to St. Mary's towards this great day in honour of their father Frank.
