Report from U-15 Feile

Our U-15 Hurlers travelled to Littleton yesterday to take part in the John West All-Ireland Feile 2021. Our lads were invited as one of 5 Tipperary clubs involved as the host County. This was just rewards for the great effort and progress this group made all year.

The lads got off to a flyer in their first game against Derry Champions Lavey. After a slow start to the game where the Derry side ran into a 1-3 to 0-0 lead the lads battled back in the 2nd half to run out deserving winners on a score line of 2-7 to 1-5.

We were back into action straight away for our 2nd game against Ulster Champions Oisins from Antrim who provided very strong opposition for our lads. But true to form the lads battled their way right to the very end but the Antrim side ran out deserving 8 point winners.

As a result we finished 2nd in our group which pitted us against our old rivals Mullinahone in the Shield Semi-Final. As expected that was another closely fought contest between two teams that know each other quite well. Mullianhone were ahead early with a quick 4 point start but our lads settled to the task and fought their way into the game in tough conditions. A Mullinahone goal midway through to 2nd half left our lads with a little too much to do in a short space of time and we ended up on the wrong side of a 1-8 to 7 point score line. Mullinahone went of to win the Sheild Final, and our Group winners Oisins were the eventual Division Champions, so our lads can hold their heads high and be proud of their efforts on the day. A big thanks to all the parents who travelled on the day and gave us great support and encouragement for the day. And well done to all the volunteers and organisers for running a great event in these challenging times
