Representatives from St. Mary’s Mothers & others camogie group visited C-SAW’s drop in facility at William St. Clonmel recently to present some sponsorship funds raised to Chairman Joe Leahy.
C-SAW was established to help members of the community who have lost loved ones to suicide and now extends to all individuals seeking support because of feeling low, sad or depressed. It is a voluntary organisation providing free confidential services in a safe welcoming environment. C-SAW's Joe Leahy thanked all those who had raised funds, highlighting the importance of encouraging people to talk about mental health in clubs and communities across Tipperary.
“We are very grateful for the ongoing support, which helps us maintain our drop-in facility and provide counselling to all those who need it. Everyone in C-SAW has completed a SafeTalk course, which provides the skills to talk to people who are struggling with their mental health. We would encourage more people to undertake the course, particularly senior members of clubs and groups in Clonmel, who play such a valuable role engaging and mentoring young people. It’s a really important message to send out to young lads and girls that members of your club have done the course, and there is going to be someone to listen in a non-judgmental and safe manner. We want to thank everyone for raising awareness and vital funds for our work.”
