Another busy year in our schools program is coming to an end for this school year. Its such an important link for our club to be so active in our local schools and it wouldn’t happen without the support of some many volunteers who give their time to help us promote our game and club in the local schools. This year our program was boosted by our third level student Chloe O’Connell who is the first ever recipient of our student bursary scheme award. Aided by our club coaches Andy Griffin, John Landers, Donal Keane, Paddy Bond and Shane O’Neill, the games of hurling and camogie were brought to the school kids each week. This year we also availed of massive support from TY students from our local secondary schools. In all over 300 hours of coaching was delivered to boys and girls across the year in our host schools St Marys CBS, Presentation Primary School, Gaelscoil Cluain Meala and Sisters of Charity NS. We are so lucky to have such great co-operation from our host schools and we thank them for trusting us to deliver our game to the many kids who enjoyed the fun.
It was a year of successes that saw the Presentation Primary and Sisters of Charity have their first school camogie teams to enter in the Cumann na mBunscoil competitions. Whilst the results are long forgotten the singing on the buses will be long remembered! The numbers of new kids joining the fun keeps growing every week and we love to see new faces joining in with our familiar ones.
We thank our TY students and their schools for coming on board and helping us as always. Pictured below are some of the student receiving vouchers for KB Sports from club representatives as a token of appreciation for their efforts throughout the year.
Presentation Secondary School: Grainne Power, Holly Hayes, Hazel Brennan and their co-ordinator Ms Mary O’Dwyer.

None of this is possible without the help and support of so many people so thanks to everyone who has helped big or small over the school year. See you all back in Sept and enjoy the school holidays and remember you can keep the newly acquired skills alive and join in the fun every Saturday morning in the Sportsfield Clonmel. New members are always welcome.
